Car
The resort of Val d'Isère is located 45 minutes from Bourg-Saint-Maurice, in the Savoie department, in the Northern Alps. It takes about 2 hours from Chambéry, 2 hours 10 minutes from Grenoble, and 3 hours from Lyon to reach Val d'Isère. From Chambéry, take the A43 and A430 highways, or from Grenoble, take the A41 and A430 highways to Albertville, then follow the N90 national road to Bourg-Saint-Maurice, and finally take the D1090 and D902 towards Val d'Isère.
Tip: In Bourg-Saint-Maurice, follow the road signs rather than your GPS to avoid roads closed in winter. Please note that the Col du Petit Saint Bernard and the Col de l'Iseran are closed in winter.
Train
The train is an excellent option to avoid traffic and travel peacefully. The nearest station, Bourg-Saint-Maurice, is located 40 minutes from Val d'Isère and is served by high-speed trains such as the TGV, Eurostar, and Thalys.
From Bourg-Saint-Maurice, shuttles, taxis, and rental cars are available to take you to Val d'Isère, offering a convenient and stress-free solution.
